Educational Training & Instructional Design
I can tailor each video to fit the educational or instructional needs of your project. Let me help tell your story.
Guided Math | Instructional Training Video Series
It all started when Tammy Leslie approached me with a challenge: she needed a series of targeted instructional videos to help educators build a clear foundation in Guided Math practices. Working together, we produced multiple videos featuring real classrooms, students, and teachers from Edmonton Catholic Schools to demonstrate these strategies in action.
Guided Math is a small-group, differentiated approach that supports students in learning math at their own pace.
Through hands-on activities, games, and real-world problem-solving, teachers can deliver more meaningful instruction while using ongoing assessments to adapt to each learner’s needs.
Our video series highlighted:
How teachers structure small-group instruction
Strategies that make math more engaging and accessible
Real classroom examples of students building confidence and mastery
The goal of Guided Math — and of this project — is to help students develop strong conceptual understanding while becoming more independent, capable, and confident learners.
If you’re developing training content or need video-based learning resources,
I’d be happy to help bring your next project to life.
Design Thinking: A Human-Centered Approach to Problem Solving
Design Thinking: Building Creative Problem Solvers
Created for Edmonton Catholic School Division's Learning Services Innovation team, this project introduced educators and students to the principles of Design Thinking—a human-centered approach to solving complex problems through empathy, creativity, collaboration, and experimentation.
The objective was to transform a complex innovation framework into an engaging and accessible learning experience that could be applied in classrooms and everyday problem-solving situations. Through a combination of visual storytelling, motion graphics, and instructional design, the video guides viewers through the key stages of the Design Thinking process: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test.
Working closely with educational stakeholders, I developed a multimedia learning resource that balanced instructional objectives with engaging visuals and clear messaging. The project was designed to support innovation in teaching and learning while encouraging viewers to embrace curiosity, explore new ideas, and view challenges as opportunities for creative problem solving.
By combining educational best practices with compelling visual communication, the video helped make Design Thinking approachable and actionable for educators and students alike, fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and learner-centered innovation.
