Mayor Don Iveson Reads
Working closely with the Mayor’s Office, I produced a series of short community video vignettes titled Mayor Reads, featuring Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson sharing children’s stories with local families. The series was designed to build community connection, promote literacy, and humanize civic leadership through storytelling.
The December episode was created to celebrate the holiday season and support new Canadians adjusting to their first Edmonton winter. The story Dashing Through the Snow: A Canadian Jingle Bells was carefully selected to reflect shared traditions, seasonal joy, and the sense of welcome that defines our city.
Through accessible, warm, and family-focused content, Mayor Reads helped strengthen the Mayor’s community presence while reinforcing the City’s commitment to education, inclusion, and civic engagement.
Slowing Down for Our Kids: School Zone Safety Awareness
In March 2015, hundreds of students from Sister Annata Brockman and Bessie Nichols schools gathered in west Edmonton for a powerful rally to raise awareness about speeding in school zones. The event brought together students, parents, educators, and community partners with one shared goal: keeping children safe.
This City of Edmonton safety campaign united students, parents, and public safety partners to help curb speeding in school zones—proving that powerful storytelling can drive real-world behavior change.
